Australian Cultural Heritage Management is one of Australia’s largest multi-disciplinary heritage management firms. Our experts are recognised leaders in their fields. We have extensive experience managing the heritage requirements of major industrial developments, civil works, mining and resources developments and balancing the requirements of statutory authorities and stakeholder groups. ARCHAEOLOGY

We have a proven track record in the management of some of the most complex archaeological projects in Australia. Out experts are leaders in the field of stone tool analysis, predictive modelling, faunal analysis, excavation, rock art recording and analysis, and archaeological field survey. ACHM can manage archaeological projects of any size and duration

ANTHROPOLOGY AND NATIVE TITLE

ACHM has a team of anthropologists servicing client needs in a range of environments. ACHM anthropologists are engaged in native title research, community liaison, meeting facilitation, the collection of preservation evidence, and providing heritage clearances and site recording on behalf of traditional owners

TEAM WORK

ACHM currently employs approximately 20 permanent consulting staff and a similar number of casual consultants, allowing us to provide comprehensive, flexible service for projects. We also regularly work as a part of multidisciplinary teams on a range of large projects. PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Our team offers unrivalled experience in the management of large and extremely complex heritage management issues for industry, government and stake holder groups. We also manage smaller projects as required. We currently manage heritage requirements for Aboriginal corporations such as Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara, Martidja Banyjima, and corporate clients including Woodside Energy, Rio Tinto, FMG Ltd, Electranet SA and several Wind Farm companies, to name just a few.

SPATIAL SOLUTIONS

Our GIS team produce spatial products of unrivalled quality and accuracy. We utilise the ESRI family of GIS products, but can provide data to clients in any popular format. We operate a range of Trimble Recon and GeoXM DGPS equipment for the collection of data guaranteed to be spatially accurate (< 0.5m). We maintain an extensive spatial data library and can produce high quality electronic and traditional mapping products for our clients

CULTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT PLANS

An essential component of most modern development projects is a timely and well executed cultural heritage management plan. We have particular expertise in writing and implementing cultural heritage management plans gained through some of Australia’s largest, most complex resources and energy developments.

GROUND PENETRATING RADAR

We have access to the latest advances in ground penetrating radar equipment to determine the presence or absence of sub-surface cultural material prior to any excavation. This technology can save enormous time and money by pin-pointing areas where archaeological investigations should be targeted or providing evidence as to why excavations may not be required

HERITAGE ADVICE

We provide expert advice to our clients on all aspects of cultural heritage management including legislative compliance, survey requirements, logistics, community consultation, heritage agreements, consent applications, data collection, archiving, and advocacy or court expertise

VISUAL ANTHROPOLOGY AND ARCHIVAL RECORDING

ACHM create broadcast quality audio-visual productions documenting preservation evidence for native title claims, cultural tourism, and documentary style recording of cultural heritage projects

CULTURAL TOURISM

ACHM provide cultural tourism advice to corporate and local government agencies. Our consultants have a wealth of experience in tourism, local and regional event management, event marketing and promotions

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

ACHM provide community development services to Aboriginal communities and to corporate and government stakeholders. This may range from advice to stakeholders on how best to address social disadvantage when working with Aboriginal communities on development projects, to appropriate and effective consultation practices and process, and improving communication between stakeholders and Aboriginal groups.
