Joseph Brooke is a Senior Heritage Advisor with over 10 years of experience. Joseph has a Bachelor of Archaeology (Honours) with his research focussed on Australian Indigenous stone artefact technology in southeast Australia over the last 5,000 years.
Joseph specialises in the management and undertaking of a diverse array of Indigenous cultural heritage assessment and management projects, and prides himself on providing project-specific solutions tailored to client needs. Joseph has managed small and large scale Indigenous cultural heritage projects across Victoria and New South Wales for a range of clients, and has a comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous heritage legislation and regulation in both these jurisdictions. Joseph has also been involved in heritage assessments in Tasmania and Queensland.
Joseph has a great track-record in undertaking respectful, outcome-focussed consultation with a range of Indigenous stakeholders. Joseph is an experienced field archaeologist, having coordinated complex and multi-stage field assessments, including field surveys, test excavation and salvage excavations. Joseph is a fully qualified ‘Heritage Advisor’ and archaeologist as specified in the requirements of the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
