Nigel Tonkin

Nigel completed a BA (Honours) in archaeology in 2003 and has since worked in various cultural heritage management positions as a heritage specialist and supervisor. Nigel was employed as a field archaeologist for many years with two highly regarded Western Australian consultancy firms, before making a shift into the land access approvals space within the minerals and resources sector.

Based in Western Australia, Nigel has extensive experience working with stakeholders across Industry, Government and Traditional Owner organisations, managing the heritage requirements of major greenfield and brownfields minerals projects, predominantly in the Pilbara region.

This extensive experience ranging from a consultant archaeologist to heritage superintendent has provided him with a thorough understanding of both large and small scale projects at all stages of development, from exploration, construction to operations. Nigel's work is underpinned by a safety first ethos at all times.
