Ariana Spencer-Gardner holds a Bachelor of Archaeology and a Master of Professional Archaeology from La Trobe University.
Ariana undertook a thesis investigating the potential for three-dimensional reconstructions of destroyed archaeological sites to retain their intangible significance.
Ariana’s primary experience is in Indigenous Archaeology, undertaking both surveys and excavations alongside Traditional Owners in Victoria. She also has experience excavating historical archaeological sites in Victoria and Bronze Age archaeological sites in Cyprus. Ariana has also assisted in completing various heritage assessments such as Cultural Heritage Management Plans, Due Diligences and Aboriginal Place Registrations.
Ariana is a fully qualified ‘Heritage Advisor’ under the Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
